Cron-o-Meter Nutrition Tracker App Reviews

Need to be able to see what foods contribute to PUFAs

I like it, but dont love it. It is irritating that it will not rotate to landscape so that I can easily use my keyboard on my iPad Pro. I would also like more individual supplements (vitamin A, D, C, etc.) to be available to use without manually adding each one.

Really good app!

I really like this app. It has tons of preloaded foods to choose from & gives you the options to add your own from a nutrition label. You can search with a barcode scanner, which also totally rocks. You can also add ingredients from a recipe & their quantities & servings to calculate macros for a serving. I love that. I want to give this a five star but there are two major bugs that drive me crazy that I wish could be fixed. 1) I wish you had the option to edit an existing food choice versus enter everything again. A lot of the foods arent entered in as the same servings/sizes/nutrition info. It may be the same food, brand, etc., but sometimes my serving sizes are different than what the barcode scanner or the preloaded choice brings up. 2) They offer up the option to turn net carbs on or off. LOVE this. However, they only include net carbs as total carbs minus fiber. I eat/drink lots of things with sugar alcohols, which I dont count in total carbs because of the way they are metabolized in the body. But the sugar alcohols are still counted in the net carb count. I wish they would make another option button to turn on or off to subtract sugar alcohols from total carb count too if someone wanted the option. If these two things were fixed, this app would totally be a 5 star!

Outstanding

First, I love Cronometer. It really is the most comprehensive means of tracking nutritional data available. With all the food databases it draws from, there really shouldnt be much trouble getting the finer details on the diet, even if it means keying in some generic options as opposed to specific brand named goods. However, the app has undergone some cosmetic changes that seem to clutter the interface up. I feel like the My Foods, Trends and Profile options would serve just as useful under the menu option as these are less frequented data points than just the diary. Just my opinion, but it seems like unnecessary changes just to modernize the app at the expense of a more aesthetic UI. The publisher could at least update the screenshots for the App Store listing to reflect these changes. Again, I definitely still recommend the app and service, and always do when someone inquires about a food logging app, but I hope they clean the main landing / interface up a bit. Thank you, Cronometer.

Cant login 2+ years data gone!

Used to be able to login with login name. A few months ago they changed the website login to an email address login or social website login without giving those of us with a standard login name a way to change over to the new login system. The app allowed the old login to work until tonight. Very disappointed. What a waste of time and money!

Terrible app

Completely bummed that I spent 3$ on this app and even more bummed that they have my email!!! I read about this app being useful for vegans but they dont have ANY foods and no real way to measure the foods. The only good part is it follows the 80-10-10 for raw vegans. It does have curry or even ginger tea!! This app is not made for healthy people, its made for people who eat fast food every day because that is literally the only food in this apps archive. Deleted immediately and will go back to myfitnesspal for FREE. Sorry not sorry.

Good instrument with some things to correct

I have been using this app for some time now and I find it useful, although I have found some foods that are missing, like the simple tomatoe sauce or the calories of 100 grams of any cereal like spaghetti, the app says its 158 calories when really the calories are 357 (because the app measures the 100 grams of pasta after cooking- but who on earth weighs the pasta after having cooked it? You measure 100 grams of pasta and then you boil it, that is the standard portion for a person, at least in Italy, where pasta represents the national dish) apart from that the app works well! Ciao

Great App, could use more features!

Absolutely love this app, because I can easily keep track of my vitamin and other general health intake. However, its hard to find many of the exact foods I eat, so its not exact when I track my vitamins intake. I think if you guys could make it so I could scan a barcode on my food and it would show up, my results would be a lot more exact. Thank you! Overall a great app, but the barcode scanner needs to be added.

Good. Could be amazing.

Starting with the negative; this app doesnt allow you to scan food items like the Lose-it app does and only has One prenatal vitamin to choose from. A lot of the food measurements make it difficult to log; only allowing gram or ounce quantities when you want cups or each. I would also prefer my foods to be separated by meals instead of one long string of food. Aaaaand finally, you cant create recipes of things that you often make or refer to/copy&paste a previous meal. No upgrades are available. I DO love that it tracks all the micronutrients of my foods, which is exactly what I was on the search for so it meets that criteria. I would love if they updated and added on a few things, especially the scanner!

Nutrition summary to be improved

Ideal would be when in the nutrition summary, when you click on a nutrient it would tells you where you got it from and by what proportion. Right now the only feature behind nutrient sum is the plus minus to set up. If there is a sum shown, that means it comes from an entry, then why not to show it... Would be perfectly wished from me... Please consider.

Not the best

This app could be much better if it had a scanner for the food or a broader selection of food to choose from. Its too much to have to create basic foods that are found in several stores. For the price its not the best app. Hopefully they can add the scan feature and make it more user friendly.

Poor App

This App needs lots of work! They should not be charging money for this garbage!

Not worth the money

Wish I never bought this app. It irritates me to think I put money in this guys pocket for an app that is so basic it should be free.

Basic app not worth the money

This is a very basic app with few features and a small Database of foods. Not worth $3 when you can get the more advanced myfitnesspal for free.

Life changing

I use this app to figure out what nutrients I am lacking and then I look up those foods and perfect my diet. My energy levels are much higher now.

Does not sync with website entries!!

I bought this app so I could input entries on the go (versus only doing it on website) and this stupid app doesnt even sync with web account. Terrible! Completely useless to me now. Dont buy this.

Excellent

This app makes using the excellent Cronometer website more convenient.

Cronouser5000

I like the app a lot. There are tons of food items already listed and if not you can add your own (with all nutrient facts included). One thing that I feel is missing is the feature that is displayed on the website. If youre on your personal total nutritional target the website breaks the percentage of the food items down for you (lets say you hover over potassium e.g. itd show you avocado 13%, banana 9%, and so on). The app doesnt do that and I would love that feature to be included. Other than that its a great app to track your nutritional goals. Perfect for vegans and vegetarians.

Not just a calorie counter

I am not sure why this app is rated so poorly. It does what I need it to do. You can add your foods to the list. You can look at the vitamin/mineral content of any food. You can adjust each food by weight or amount. The catalog works for me on a plant based diet. My only critique is that I would like to categorize by breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, instead of it being one rolling log. Its easier on the eye to see the meals separate so you dont forget something.

Nutrition a Top Priority

This is a perfect lifestyle health app that tracks optimal nutrients. With this app I can focus on perfect health and let lower weight be a side effect. It has tons of food choices to pick from or I can add my own. This takes the guessing work out of health deficiencies. You will know what your body is lacking and what you can cut down on. I love it!

Very Nice

I love the new features and snazzy interface. Ive used cronometer for years and am elated to see how functional the app is now.
